no dash gauges please help!!

no dash gauges please help!!

i have an 82 4x4 the dash lights come on and the gauges them self will not. everynow and again my gas guage will work but then quits...can anyone tell me where the wires would be to start checking for this or can i run a switch to my fuel gauge

There are 3 plugs in the back of your cluster, make sure they are all plugged in all the way, and make sure the individual wires in the plugs aren't coming out of the plug itself. Check fuses.

You can also check the prongs by makeing sure there out far enough to contact the side of the gauge.

what happened right before they stopped working? maybe that will shed some light on the cause.

check your fuse links ... off of the positive post on the battery .
give them a good tug .. if there burnt they'll break . an just replace .
