shackles for 63" chevies?

i ran the double shackle idea for a few weeks and it got old so i moved the hanger back like 2 inches and now im just using the chevy shackel... how big of a shackle i should use? 6" from eye to eye?

ideally you want as small a shackle as you can that doesn't bind the springs flex.
