Running hot?

My 83 is having a over heating problem. The problem started a little after I had my transmission replaced. (Witch is going out again ) I have replaced the water pump,Thermostat, rad. I have also flushed the coolant out a few times.

The truck has been close to over heating but never got in to the red.
After I replaced the water pump the truck runs a little cooler but it is still running hot.

Thanks.

Take a look at the fan clutch, if its bad your fan won`t kick in to cool things down when needed.

It runs hotter at stop lights more then just driving. But on hotter days it runs hoter when I am driving. And I checked my fan clutch and it feels like it is working ok. It has a little play but thats it.

sounds like an air flow problem. start with a new fan clutch, they are cheap.

try and check what the temprature is another way besides the gauge. my freind was having the same problem with the 22r in his celica. we replaced everything in the system and nothing changed. we took a thermometer gun to it and found it to be running at 190. it ended up being the gauge its self was miss reading
