Are our trucks good "Doomsday Trucks"??

Well here is my $0.02
I think they are deffenatly worth building into a D Day vehicle I have been trying to get mine fixed up to be self sufficient for a while but money is holding me back and I still need to build a camping trailer too. I have got to get it ready..

I dunno, I guess best sidewall protection like the Goodyear MTR Kevlar. I don't have enough tire experience to say really.
Must have items are flat fixes: air compressor, puncture kit repair, jack, safety, etc. which should already be in the truck Imo. Oh, and a spare!

An EMP can affect anything with a circuit regardless if they are on or not. The explosion composes of a massive burst of electromagnetic radiation which causes currents to induce on circuits and potentially frying them. Shouldn't affect out trucks I believe but may not hurt to keep a spare coil/ignition in a faraday box and maybe even a spare set of plugs. This thread is awesome too. I was actually thinking about putting a bug out bad in my yota after watching "Doomsday Preppers" on TV.

I don't have a first gen, but I'm getting in on this.
When mounting things to the exterior of the survival truck such as a geiger counter, extra fuel tanks, tools/toolbox, BFG, etc. They should be secure enough that if you have to drive through a mob of unprepared citizens they can't just reach into the back and start stealing your supplies. But, I would want to fab in some kind of quick disconnect just in case you have to switch vehicles. Say you roll the truck or kill it somehow then you can quickly disconnect your supplies and take them with as you run for the nearest running yota! On this same idea of driving through a mob of people who want your stuff.... I'm a fan of swapping all windows for something unbreakable.
And some kind of cabin filtration system....

Covering ALL the bases
Remember Tom Cruise's character in "War of the Worlds"? Somehow he had the only solution to make his mini-van run after the aliens hit us with their version of an EMP...
Although zombies are a likely enemy in a doomsday situation, it might be smart to plan for aliens too. Anybody know where to get some of those cool weapons the Men in Black have?

if aliens are actually a threat to us, we are all screwed. Think about how difficult it would be for us to send some one to Mars. now think, how hard it would be to send a person to Saturn...Now how do any of us think we could defy a life form that can travel between solar systems? Our weapons, the common cold, guns? No chance a more sophisticated life form hasn't already thought of those things. Just run and hide for as long as you can, if it's even possible.
Other things to consider(a 4wheel back-pack):
Water purifier, potable water on your rig, and a pump.
Stove(camping, but may use valuable resources...fuel)
Learn to bump start your truck, sorry autos....
Skid plates, mainly to deflect debris...rolling down an abandon hwy...
Fix-A-Flat goo
Machete (cuz they are scary)
Lexan windows
Compass
HAM radio

rb- for a stove, check this out:
https://www.yotatech.com/51861257-post326.html
no fuel needed to be carried or used
your list is a good one. i might add a hand-crank 12v generator/solar charger just for those times when you need to keep the battery charged

Another answer, with slightly cheaper upfront cost, to the stove situation is a penny stove:

Although the idea of coming up with a trickle charger fed off the wood stove would sure be nice to have for the BOV battery...

but, you still need to carry fuel. and i've made a few of them. they're hot, but susceptible to wind. not only because of the weak flame pressure, but the stove itself is lightweight. they will blow away easily. that being said, you can make one if you stumble across 2 aluminum cans. easy to make with a pocket knife, even easier with a multitool.
