One wire alternators
I"ve heard a lot of people talk about putting a chevy one wire alt. in toyotas. I need to know what year Chevy you can find these on, and if there is someone who makes adapters to mount them on a 83 toy with a 22R.

I'm not sure about fitting the alternator, but the alternators found on older small blocks are the ones for running a one wire set-up.
They mount the same way the toyota one does One long bolt on the bottom for the pivot, and one that threads into the ear.
I am running a one wire set-up on a boat with the old alternator off my 85 c10 I had.

Marine (boat) alternators are sealed to prevent sparks (they have screens over any opening and different bearings). Running one in a boat is a good way to blow up, any fuel vapors that lay in the bilge could be ignited by an automotive alternator or starter. Threre's a reason boat eletrical stuff is expensive.

I had always run the blower for a few minutes before starting the motor. I guess I will have to fork out the money for the correct one.
