new head or whole new engine

new head or whole new engine
so i got a 1980 toyota pickup bone stock with a 20r a little while ago and replaced the head gasket because the guy siad it was blown. i had 2 differant guys (both good mechanics) look at it once it was off and they both said that ya it looked like a blown gasket and the head still looked in good condition. i did not have it magna flexd or however u say it, but i did have it checked to make shure that it wasnt warped. got every thing back together, torqued the head properly, ran it a little and then pulled it into my carport and started on all my new running gear. it probly sat for a month and a half while i got all that on. the only thing that i did diferant to the engine during that time was put a header on. so when i got it driveable last week i was playin around a little on my property and noticed it was leakin some oil. pulled it back into garage, sliped some card bord under it and noticed it was leakin a lot of oil. traced it back to a whole in my air cleaner. called a friend that is a pretty good mech. and he said that my coolant is probly mixing with my oil via a crack in my head and is showing up in my air cleaner because it goes to the highest part of your engine and then builds up. so into my valve cover and then into that front hose that comes out of your valve cover and into your air cleaner, part of your vacum system correct? so some of this mixture is going into my carb. and running through the engine and then the rest is building up in the air cleaner and then draining out this little hole. so if im correct in whats happening hears my question, finaly. would i be better of buying a new head, or a whole new engine. ive heard that you can put a differant head on the 20r block to give it a little more power. what head is that? 22r, 22re with a carb intake, either, does it matter? any help would be greatly appreciated. i just want this thing to run. also if you have a head or whole new engine or now someone that does let me now. im going to have to get something. 206-817-0326. thanks for any help.

sounds like the pcv valve is sticking.
check your oil to see if you have coolant in it.
first check and see if the coolant is low.
the pcv is the valve that is attached to the hose coming out of the valve cover
clean it out and see if that takes care of the oil getting in the air box
