i remember the mojave trucks of 1983
i thought they were only 2wd
they had no toyota markings at all
which makes me think that mojave 4wd in the pictures might be dealer installed copy and not toyota factory job.
the only mojaves ive seen have unmarked grilles and tailgates..
the ad im looking at shows only a 2wd and doesnt mention 4wd
canadian spec could be different.

of the engine??? I think i would love to see a mint engine bay of a 22r...

that paint is absolutely gorgeous! that is sooo shiny. i think a lot of us thought our trucks were in good condition, but that brings a whole new meaning to the term "Mint condition"

Holy crap are you kidding me? That is hands down the nicest Toyota I have ever seen around here, I wish I could see it in person.

If I could afford it I would buy it just off the pic and info alone. And drive it back here to BC.

I can only hope that one day such a treasure as an old Toyota that has been stored for decades, then sold by and old lady for $500 will happen to me.

Thanks for posting that, it was really neat to see that there are Toyotas from the 80's with no rust and absurdly low km's.

Can someone with access to a Mojave get me the paint code off of the VIN plate in the engine compartment? I want to add this to my reference page. Thanks!

My friend in Red Deer has turned his Mojave into a Truggy, that now gets pulled out by my uncles old bone stock with complete rust!

PM me and i will ask him to get his VIN and anything else you want. and no he wont sell as it is the ultimate truck that he wastes money on.

mint mojave

WOW I wish the pics would show. I thought mine had low Kms at 160k but 12000k is unheard of. I have an 83 mojave that was driven for 3 years then stored in a garage for 10 years with 75k on it. It was then purchased by my buddy who drove it mildly until I bought it in 2002 with 137k on it. Since then I put it up to 160k, and it is now in the middle of a frame off restoration. It was rust free but I wanted to keep it that way so I am completely re-doing the whole thing. It is basically going to be a brand new truck when I am done. I had a V.I on it so I rebuilt everything mechanically before I started the frame off. It now has a 8" lift,35" BFG Muds(w/ two matching spares and rims), Highsteer, 5.29s, Lockers F&R, Eagle 058s, Smittybuilt front(w/ 6 lights), Weber, Winch, Canopy, roof cage, Rock lights, Trussed, And tons of custom work. I will have to post pics when it is done. It will be pewter greyish silver color with stock mint interior. I thought long and hard about keeping the brown, but it was already blue when I bought it. And I hate brown.

to the guy who wanted the paint code.
on the plaque under the hood it reads;
MODEL RN38L-MSK
4B4FH42G292L52
Not sure if thats it but thats the only numbers on the plaque besides the vin.
And to MUD-BUTT, there was a guy who came by my place once from Maple ridge who said he had an original set of decals for a mojave never installed. I tried to contact him through craigslist since with no luck. He bought something from me thruogh CL so he does go on there. Otherwise I was going to get signsnow to make a set in silver. you just have to take a picture and dimensions to them and they can re-produce it.
To the guy with the 12000k one, please send me some pics of yours so I can maybe get the decals reproduced. or at least drool over your mint ruck

thanks
