Massive Oil Spray

Hello all, 81 YOTA P/U w/22R Engine. Daily driver with approx 30K since rebuild (all done before I bought it 2 years ago). Noticed oil in parking lot at work, checked oil and discovered everything under the hood is covered in oil. Have discovered lots of oil in the air filter housing as well. Added oil and limped home (6 miles) by the time I got home truck runs/sounds ok but oil pressure drops to nothing at idle. Not sure where to start to determine cause.

Thx in advance to all.

Most likely the crankshaft seal on the front of the timing cover. It leaks onto the crank pulley and sprays everywhere. It can be changed with the cover on,but you half to remove crank pulley. Very common problem on 22r.

A crankshaft seal doesn't relate to oil in a filter housing. Pull the vent tube off the valve cover and throttle the engine and you'll see what's shooting out. An over pressurized crankcase can shoot oil throughout a bunch of seals, and can be caused by all kinds of things. Anywhere from a solid clogged cat, to broken rings on a piston.
