someone told me bout using an GM HEI mod. to replace the "EXPENSIVE" yota module is this true??

 

Yeah it is true. There is a great post with pictures and diagrams over on Pirate4x4. I only recommend it if you have an emergency and need to make it home or you just cannot afford or find one to replace your factory piece.
