Ignition
#3
Most people here stay with the stock ignition system because its pretty much bullet proof as it is. The engines in out truck are not built for high performance so there is really no need for an after market ignition. All i can say is hook up your Jacobs ignition system and see if you notice any gains in power or gas mileage, and let us know your results.

I think I might do it this weekend then. I don't want to mess with a good ignition system if i don't need to though. decision..decisions. I have a friend with a coil to support the jacobs ignition so if i can persuade him to let me borrow it for testing then i will. If not I can just keep it for the tercel... BTW thanks for the reply!

Higher output coil? My truck was previously owned by a guy who worked for a dealership so alot of parts are new but stock... for example the coil. It's new but I don't know about Higher output. Aftermarket?

Yes, aftermarket, swapped in a Accel Coil, its rated at 42000 volts. I have no idea what the stock coil was rated at, but most stock coils are rated in the 30.000 + volt range.
If you can, post a picture of your truck.
