Idle/timeing ..

I just stuck a newer 20R motor in my truck since the other was hemriging oil all over my truck. The motor started right up after 5 years of sitting ,I dont know why but it Ran great so I decided to fix it yah I know. I took it to a mechianc to have it timed and they put it to 8 degress , and now it is kinda struggleing to stay idleing should I advance the timeing, or the carb. The carb is a weber. any ideas ? thanks for the advice in advance...

you could always rebuild the carb, or at least make sure the idle jets aren't clogged. Its not a hard job at all.
