I picked up this rust free, 80' 4x4 with a 20r, 4 speed(notforlong), 4.37's, pacesetter header 31" M/T's, and a long bed. Unmolested from Oklahoma for a fair $3000. To good of a deal for me to pass up, and now to begin the fun stuff like a 4" lift, locker in the rear, 33's, and rebuild the 20r when the time comes also high steer. Short list to get me started, but let me know what you think. She sees the creek beds and does some mild wheeling in my off time as well as my dd.
Hell yeah i like the all black look! nice truck for 3 grand!
After some new tires in Nevada, just driving around with a friend.
6 or 7 months ago, I was replacing the fuel pump, so I decided to Zip-Tie the brake lights, and the license plate up for a couple days. It was actually pretty fun. Got a lot of strange looks going through intersections that's for sure.
In this one, I had just bought the bolts to put my front valance back on for the first time in a couple years.
I am picking up a free pre-83, not sure exactly what year but I will find out tomorrow. The original owner kept it maintained since brand new then one day he parked for a few months and it didn;t start back up. Turns over but doesn't catch. I will be towing her home tomorrow! Someone tell me what year this might be?
Yeah its amazing what a little elbow grease can do.....my 80's original paint was pretty oxidated when I got it...2 rounds of polishing compound along with 2 more rounds of paste wax and its shows pretty well for old paint....your truck looks great btw!
Make sure you pull the rear driveshaft when you town it (unless it is on a trailer)
The transfercase doesn't get lubed correctly, I destroyed a transmission when it went into gear some how..
That truck is a 79-81..
