Did a little bit more

Been working on the interior for a couple months and I say that as in I get maybe 15 minutes a day before it’s back to dad duty. Been also trying to hunt down miscellaneous parts and pieces of that this truck has been missing. Rebuild the heater core housing new foam and cleaned everything really good. Had to heat wrap then foam the heater core to match the size of the old one. Then finally today I started putting everything back together and figure out what goes where of the stuff I’ve been buying on market place. I must say I’m stoked to see the interior almost all back together. Also scored a ac/evap box so I can get ac up and running again. Just need the switch and hoses and a compressor and should be closer to the next step. Ultimately I need to get it smogged. It is currently on non op and I would either need to get all the smog stuff or just pay 400 to get a hot smog and hope it works lol everything smog related on this motor is gone. Everything. So I’m leaning towards hot smog. Anyways here are some random pictures of what I’ve done and still am in search for. Sorry they are not in any order

Bad but good news

Finally started tracking down this wiring mess fixing all the crap the previous owner did. Added a lug for all the power wires to clean it up under the hood. Been struggling with the headlights not working for a while. Thought I had it fixed because the solder broke at the switch in the steering wheel area. But no. Then after still not getting power to the headlights I traced the wire with a wire tracer from harbor freight. It didn’t really work. After about an hour of that I moved on to fixing and deleting unusable crap or fixing possible fire hazards. Finall after fixing about 10 different issues I tried the lights again and bam! They worked!!!! So stoked. Also there has been this small leak in the intake manifold. I took out the bolt and cleaned up the threads because they were caked in sealant. Put it back in and it would not tighten up so I investigated and cleaned off the sealant hiding this crack…. Fun stuff time to get a new intake from lce.

New parts!

I have been having an issue with it running rough and finding black crap on the ground from the exhaust. Looked into it and I believe it’s flooding itself. It had a very old Holley fuel pressure regulator and gauge on it but taking it out of the look didn’t change anything. Either the gauge was broke or the diaphragm finally let go. So I ordered a new one. Got to love when new parts show up put it in and started her up. Put it at 3psi and it runs smoother and has a little more power up the hills. Definitely a must from ebay.
also starting taking apart to clean the evap ac box. Looks like a mouse made his home forever ago in this thing. Thankfully he wasn’t around anymore dead or alive.
