Help for an old 82

Picked up a 1982 Toyota pickup over Christmas weekend and I am at a loss trying to find parts and schematics for how everything runs under the dash.
what I know I need:
-a dash- but I don’t know if the eBay ones would work? I will post a pic
-defrost tubes/hose from the blower to the vents.
-steering wheel bezel/cover adjustable.
-fan shroud- I’ve seen two online one is two part and the other is one metal piece. Don’t know what’s original.
-shift boots
-3-4” rear leafs, previous owner did a terrible thing the the poor shackles.
this I suppose will be a build thread and I’m honestly hoping all you smarty pants can help me solve my hunt for the right parts. I’ve searched far and wide in the depths of the deep dark web and all my personal resources. None of which have helped any.
please help a guy out thank you.

Before a thorough pressure wash

Interior the day I picked it up

🤦🏼‍♂️

Need to get shorter rear leafs

I need both the top tubes and this side tube and the damper

Finally a home she will be treated like she deserves

For original parts (used), give Yoda Jim's a try, https://www.yodajims.com/
Rock Auto shows some dash covers available: https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/....4l+l4,1277153
That's all I've got, but I'm sure some of the 4x4 gurus on here will chime in eventually.

Both metal and plastic shrouds are OEM. Sometime in late '82 ('83 model year) they switched to plastic. I have an '83 with a plastic fan shroud, and a 20R style slanted valve cover. Also another '83 with a metal shroud, 22R with 20R style slanted valve cover but with "Toyota" written in the 22R square cover font. It seems while they were changing to 22R motors in '82 they used a fair amount of parts from the older pickups that they still had laying around which still fit in the new trucks. I assume that some of these parts also came from several different plants which made them, some which had been updated with new equipment and others which had not.

I have a metal shroud from my 81, plus the duct and tubing you are looking. I’d have to pull the duct work out of storage. I pulled all out of truck when I decided to add an aftermarket a/c system during my build

This is what I have from my disassembly, again my truck didn't have OEM a/c. Let me know what would work for you.

Got some more done on the 82

Pulled the side cab vents for rubbing compound wax and noticed they were cracked and broken. Jbweld to the rescue. Also picked up some rubber gasket from ace the helpful hardware place to make the flaps. Started taking out the heater box to replace the heater core. Previous owner says it was bad so I didn’t want to risk it. Does anyone know what this little hole on the side it for? Pointing at it from in the picture. Going to soak the clips in rust preventer and paint. Also curious if anyone knows what the foam is that is used on the flap and around the heater core?

81 dash

Sweet man! I just picked up an 81 in December as well. Same exact color and truck. I was able to find the upper dash pad OEM from either Toyota parts deal or somewhere like that for $399. It did not have the side defrost vents, but I was willing to sacrifice those side tube vents for brand new original equipment. I just removed the tubes going to those vents (as seen in your image) and plugged them with pvc caps that fit snug. The eBay sellers asking $700 for a dash are criminal.

Seriously

eBay is crazy what people are asking. The frustrating part is people who sell stuff on let’s say marketplace get their pricing from eBay items. For example I’m missing an emblem on my driver side fender and people want 300 for them! I got a dash from a guy and same thing no side holes but I think I’m going to try and customize it to work

Well with the amount of people trying to restore these trucks to immaculate conditions, you cant blame them. A lot of guys have been sitting with trucks like this in their yards for decades, nows the time to make money.
this is a gold rush era for these vehicles, if you were fixing up a yota 5 or 10 yrs ago it would be a different story.

Some more done.

Got the bed cleaned out and scrubbed it had oil and axle grease soaked into it. Used purple power and it worked great. Then onto trying to figure out the wire harness. It’s a mess. Honestly might look for a doner parts truck that would be easier than trying to find all these parts I need.
does anyone know where this white plug initially would have gone. There is one on either side right behind the headlights.
also need to hind down a wire diagram to start labeling wires and what they are for. Looks like a 5 year old went through and used the twist it together and tape it up. Or if they didn’t know what it was for they just cut it off🤦🏼‍♂️

Idk

Turn signals are in the side of the light housing and they are short like they originally went to the headlights
