I'm new here to the forum, but I've been lurking for quite a while.
A few years ago I found out my buddy's dad had a 79 pickup in his back yard that was about to get sent to the scrapper. I asked him what was wrong with it and he said, "I dunno, it was running when I parked it 7 years ago but now it won't start." Next chance I got, I had a tow truck at his house to save it. Sat in my driveway untouched for a while, but finally got around to working on it a few months ago and she's finally roadworthy! Ended up being a lot more work than I anticipated, but I can't complain since it was a free truck!
Now that it's running and driving pretty reliably, I'm starting to do what I can to make it look a little nicer. This shifter console (not sure what to call it?) was shattered when I got the truck home. I found most of the pieces and glued them together, thinking I could use some bondo to smooth over the cracks and repaint it, but if I can find an OEM replacement I'd much rather do that. Does anyone know what this part is called? I've been having a hard time googling for it, and it seems like this part wasn't used on al lot of the first gen trucks just going off of pictures I've seen.
Ahhhh dang! That would explain why it's been so hard to find. Guess I'll have to make do and try to fix this one or fab something up. Where did you find that diagram? I'm sure I'll end up finding other parts that need replacement that I'll need to identify
