I payed for and collected my summer project today. Its an SR5 82 pickup that may have a lift on it. Im not sure yet. Its clearing some cheap worn out 32 in muds with room to go. Il be going carb shopping tommorow to get this beast running again. New pictures to come tommorow afternoon. There are older ones in my folder already from when I found it below.

You gots what I want
That is what I'd like to have for a 2nd rig to work on.
If I had one, it would be sportin' one of these from the guy who made my sliderz for me.

I want one like All-Pro...however I think I wanna keep the bed on and get a canback. Ive never had a pickup before, so ide like to keep it awile. My father however wants to put a flatbed on made with a homemade wood deck in it, but ive never seen one for crawling like that. I think this rigs got alot of potenial. Only time will tell...and money

If you do get the itch for a flatbed, here are some good examples.

I like Joe Chacon's and Jay Kopycinski's about the best out of the bunch.
Joe rolled his though last year, and it is no more.

Looks like a great platform to build an awesome rig on. That seems like alot of fun. Keep us up to date on what you do, and pics would be a plus!

I just noticed something about the streetability of some of these flatbeds. Almost none of them have rear markers/reflectors for the sides. Everything on the road is supposed to have a red light and reflector visible from the side like all stock cars, trucks, and motorcycles have to have. The only ones on that page that look like they have considered this are, Matt Hupton, Michael Fox, and the driver of the Blue one with Harley Davidson mud flaps. With all the other things involved in a serious build-up I can see how this is easily overlooked.

That looks like a great place to start your summer. A good thing about that year of Toy is that there are a lot of parts out there for it. Both LC Engineering and DOA Racing Engines sell bits and pieces and entire engines. If you didnt know this already theres a cool book by John Muir Publications called 'How to Keep your Toyota Truck Running Forever' (or something close to that title) that might come in really handy for you. Plus it has cool illustrations of all the procedures. Enjoy your new 4x4!
