I don't think anyone is telling you to remove it. It's just you have to decide. Do you want a capable truck, Or do you want a pretty truck? Now that you've installed the snorkle you might as well leave it. There's nothing wrong with it.

It's just my 2c, but while I agree it wasn't the prettiest looking thing in the world, props to you for at least giving it a shot and coming up with something.

Now, save your money and get a real one.

By the way, nice truck. I miss my 82.

d00d cherry snorkel. They laugh now and cry later when you flood them out in the same hole. Maybe upgrade to PVC. I dunno I am obviously not a fan of looks (check avitar). good looks = not to capable where i am from. Not a good trip unless you get sum sort of damage. lol

Dont listen to these A holes, Alot of these people have no room to talk about the choices they make with the mods on their rigs, and if your a starving student like me and like wheeling but dont have much money, then your snorkel is worth its weight in gold especially if you like to upgrade and wheel your truck more than putting engines in it. i usually bite my tongue about this stuff but if you can achieve the same goal for $15 that a $300 part does then more power to ya. Just my .02

Aw hell dude and I was right proud of your mod!!! Now go to home depot and get some PVC and do it up again. This time you'll get that high dollar custom look. And still won't spend 20 bucks. But stay with the black paint not the pink.

Haha thanks guys for likin the truck. and of course im gonna do it again and yes it will most likely be done with pvc, i had some reservations on how the dryer ducting would last on the trails here in the first place. trust me, i wont leave any room to talk crap about the next one ( i hope at least, haha) .

I like the truck, and the MOD, but I especially like the Carb adapter you made of rubber(tire tube?) I have been racking my brain for an easy way to mod a round tube to that damn trapezoidal carb base for ages, and it was so simple. I feel stupid it is so simple. Thank you for that! I have a similar mod planned for a snorkel, but with a hose through the hood, then up that pillar. I second some of these other guys....Better fugly than hydrolocked!

that peice of rubber is the old connector from between the carbs air "cylinder" thing and the little crossover pipe that goes over the valve cover. it takes alittle work to figure out how to get the clamp to hold but once you get it it works pretty good.
