Fuel backsiphons ?
81 toyota 4x4 starts everytime on a daily basis but when sitting for a week needs a LOT of cranking. This happened with stock carb and recently installed weber. I will be camping in the wilderness and running a few accessories off my only battery so cannot afford a lot of cranking to get up and running again! Any suggestions?................As a quick fix I am going to clamp vice grips to the line in and see what happens, but would like to solve the problem correctly...............Thanks.

Put in an anti-siphon vavle, you can find them at any marine (boat) supply store. They are made to screw into the pick up of a fuel tank but you can buy a female hose barb, screw them together and put it inline. they don't have much spring pressure so they wont effect the fuel pump.
