does any one no if the axles and the motor of a 1980 4x4 can fit on the 1982 2wd long bed? just got my 4x4 and the frame is shot and i know the 2wds have less rusted bodys and frames but are the curved the same ??

2WDs have better bodies and frames? Cured the same? What the hell are you talking about?

Anyways, the motor will fit. But the front of the frame is built for IFS. So, the front axle isn't going to fit.

 

opps spelled some words wrong. and worded it wrong.

so you couldnt do like a frame swap with the 4wd and the 2wd frames.

You could, but you'd have to SAS the 2wd frame. Otherwise you'd be stuck with IFS and no 4wd.

 

2wd's frames are also not the same dimentions (in this paticular vintage) as the 4WD's . not a good choice in my opinion
