First tiime wheeling my 83'
So I finally got to take my 83 out this week for the first real off road run. Unfortunely it was a spontaneous decision so I didnt have a camera. But I just wanted to say that I am amazed at these trucks and that I now see what all the fuss is about with the 1st gen 4x4's. I went out with a pathfinder and a ranger, both with more weight and with bigger tires and engines, and my stock 83 with 30's. I was really surprised what I was able to tackle with that little truck (considering its a longbed too) and not only that, but out of the 3 vehicles mine was defenitely the more superior. And having driven a 92 4runner for the last couple years I was finally able to see what the solid front axl could do. It is defenitely worth having. The axles keep the truck so much more stable and level on uneven ground as well as keeping better traction compared to an IFS. So there wasnt much point to making this thread, just wanted to show my appreciation for these trucks as my expectations were defenitely exceeded, not to mention the other guys who almost laughed when I showed up in my new little yota pickup.
