so the blue truck has been idleing like crap ever since the rebuild a year ago.. when you started it in the morning it would idle like a race cam'ed v8. it was also running very lean. The charge light would also come on until you brought up the RPMs to over 3k then the alternator would kick on but the charge light wouldnt completely go out. i replaced the voltage regulator but it didnt change anything. well last ngiht i was replacing the cigerette lighter fuse i broke when i noticed there was a small 15amp fuse that was blown labeled "engine" replaced that and now the charge light doesnt come on and its smoothed the idle out. adjusted the flow screw and it purrs at a grand at idle... it doesnt make any sense but it appears to be fixed...

 

yep when I first bought my truck, the guy had rewired something on the carburetor to where the solenoid was always on. Anyway, it killed the battery in a matter of two days. When unplugged, however, it would not idle at all. As in you let off the gas, and it dies. After finding and fixing the fuse, and disconnecting the full-time + lead, its good as new.
