Engine turns over no spark.

should we assume it's a first gen because that's what forum you posted in or is it a Kenworth?
If it's a 20R or 22R or 22RE or 3VZE you should tell us so we can help you.
take your distributor cap off and crank it, see if the rotor goes roundy round.

Igniter can be ohmed out. The values are in the FSM.
Same for the coil. Be aware, the ohm values can change as they heat up, and go out of spec. If they do, they're bad.
You can check to see if you're getting spark to the distributor by using your inductive timing light. Connect the pickup to the center conductor of the dizy. If the light flashes when you crank the engine, it's good, if not, it's bad. I've seen distributors with a hairline crack in them prevent the engine from running. When you check the center conductor, you're essentially splitting the spark system in half, isolating the problem to one half or the other.
Another thing to check is the ground from the head to the body. From the hanger hook bolt to the body metal right behind the head. If it's bad, the spark will be bad. While you're at it, check the ground from the body to the battery. Ensures that you have a good ground path for the spark system.
Good luck!
