Roger that! Check to all of those except the timing. I set it to 3° BTDC because I was afraid 5° might be pushing it, given its age and mileage. I'll give it a shot and see how she does. Thanks again.

Engine timing is engine timing, it designed to work best at a certain setting. Age & mileage shouldn't matter much, unless your timing chain is worn & slack. That would affect it more than anything else, other than your valves being out of adjustment. Easy way to check this is when using a timing light, if the mark on the pulley appears to be jumping back & forth, that's usually a sign that the chain is stretched out & slack. The mark should look to be in the same place (5 mark on timing cover) on every "flash" if the chain is good, or at least within a few (like 2) degrees to either side
