Chromoly rings

What is the difference between normal rings and chromoly, I have heard that chromoly rings ruin cylinders. Is this true?

well chromolly is a very strong steel and is also harder steel so yea it would prob wear out the walls a bit quicker but I dont think they make chromoly rings they just make moly rings. i would stick to an oem ring or hastings rings.
