Hey everyone,

I need to get my 1982 22r 4x4 through California smog, and I'm searching for the right catalytic converter and muffler. Any tips? Thanks.

 

I have a 50 state leagle magnaflow cat and magnaflow 14" on my truck it sounds really good but I couldn't tell you if it would pass or not

 

I had good luck with magnaflow, both Cat. and muffler; however, I would have preferred the the muffler to be a little quieter. I would go with magnaflow again.

 

I have the 50-state Magnaflow CAT on my truck as well as a Magnaflow tube. Pretty quiet until you stomp it AND passes CA smog.

Have them increase pipe size to 2" CAT as far forward near the "Y" off the downpipe as they'll install it, then go 2.25" to the tail. Stock is only 1-3/4"-ish, so a slight increase is good without going too big.
