Carb screw settings

Just eliminated my egr system. Would crank and without throttle shut off. Tampered with the idle, throttle, and fast idle screw. It runs now but not right. The cap is still over the mixture screw so im not gonna screw with it. Is there a certain amount of turns for each screw to go back to factory?

I've got a 79, and the fuel mixture setting is 1 & 3/4 turns from fully closed. Then, you just adjust the idle speed to 800 RPM.
