Carb idle problems

So i have a 82 pick up with the regular 22r engine in it. it sat for a few years and the i got hold of it. I went to drive it and it will run fine but every now and then seems like when the motor gets warm, the motor will die when it tries to idle from time to time, and when you drive during one of these episodes it runs rough and jerks a bit. but never dies while driving

So what do i do? i rebuild the carburetor right, but guess what i still have the same problem except the motor starts up easier.

I still have all stock components installed.

oh and when i hit it with some carb cleaner it goes away for a while.

I would first do a tune up with a fuel filter being the first thing I did, that's probably your problem is a bad filter, then do the other plugs wires air filter. And if your still having problems I would junk the aisin carb you have and get a weber 32/36 kit that runs about $350. That's probably the best investment I have done to my truck yet very very easy to tune and so much simpler. Good luck let me know what happens when you change the fuel filter

Go through everything fuel realated (lines filter tank ect) and clean or replace is what I'd do then clean the carb again

ive cleaned the lines and put a new filter in

I think ive narrowed it down to the fuel cut off solenoid on the carb, problem is it works its just getting a bad signal, now all i need it for is to cut the motor off (disengaged). But if i remove it the car wont wanna cut off (dieseling). Is it possible to just have a toggle switch or relay for it to be on with the car and off when turned off? what effect will that have on the rest of my system. Im wondering if anybody else has had issues like this and found a fix for them

The cut off solenoid on the carb is actually controlled by the ECU under the dash. If you can find a wire in the engine bay that is switched with the ignition you can wire the cut off solenoid to that.
