Can-Back

Hi. I've been looking for a top for a while and around my location there is nothing. I saw another owner with a Can-Back on here which I like and would meet my needs. Doing a little research about Can-Back and other companies no one makes it for the 1st gen anymore. I am wondering if a 84+ from a 4runner/pickup would fit without to much issues. Just putting it out there to see if anyone has tired it. Can-Back or soft-top is fine as the soft-top is a lot cheaper. I really like the trekker didn't know they existed until I bought my 83 pickup Thanks.

i believe that 1st Gen beds are actually 2" or so shorter than the newer trucks.

I believe they only have the 6 foot long camper. This was my 83 long bed bobbed 11 inches so i could fit the camper. Truck is sold and im now tring to get rid of the camper.

The soft-topper fits perfect. You just have to buy the one for an 89 to 95 pickup. I installed mine with no issues. Good luck.

So I know this thread is older than my underwear, but I'm looking for somewhere to pickup one of these canbacks for my '93 PU. Anyone know somewhere still selling? At www.can-back.com it says they had some trouble and had to hault operations, but that they "are now in the process of tooling up another canvas vendor, and expect to restart production in July 2013." Since, I think it's past July 2013, I was hoping for some good news, but have heard none ... any insider tips? Thanks.
