I have an 83 Toyota Pickup I am trying to get running and the next thing I need to fix is the brake master cylinder. The master cylinder is now however whoever owned the truck previously decided to cut the lines that lead to it. My question is what is the best way to approach this cutting? As a last resort I will have to replace the brake lines, but I would prefer not to if someone has another safe way of fixing this.

 

well if u know what one goes to what location u can get the threading portion and re flair the ends and then reinstall them..

 

From that pic, get new lines.

get new lines as wabbit said. BTW your vac advance hose from the weber to the dizzy is on the wrong port.

 

Thanks for the advice, I may as well replace them, I just hope it won't cost me too much.

That is an older picture, I have since put in a Y connector so it runs to both.

 

NO don't do that. the one in the rear is to retard the timing when the engine is cold, that is usually operated by a VSV.

 

Ok, well I will have to change that around. Can I just block that off?

 

yup you can just put a vacuum cap on it.
