Best intake and carb setup??

I got an 83 4x4, set up with twin Mikuni 44 PHH side drafts. I want to change them for something more streetable. What is the best all around intake and carb setup for street and mild off roading? My engine has 10 to 1 pistons, medium cam, and bigger valves.

I think a downdraft Weber and the stock intake or an Offenhouser would be pretty good for around town. Since I did the sync link setup on my 32/36, it hardly takes any throttle to get up and go around town or on the hwy.

On my 84 22r, I had a Weber 38 with the stock intake, a mild cam, header, and exhaust. It performed well and many people were surprised that I had a 4 banger on the truck. However, when I had to replace the head, I found the matched offenhauser intake for the 38 and put bigger valves in and its a noticeable difference.

Its hard to say what made the difference, but I think the offy works well with a 38 or 32/36. Make sure you get the right design.

STOCK. i say this for a few reasons. you can vent the stock carb and it will run darn near on a 90 degree angle. and for offroad(or atleat what we call offroad where i am) you have to have that. second because that will give you the best fuel mileage if you tune it properly, and 3rd because it is very reliable and very easy to work on. just my $.02

my friend had an offenhauser (offy) intake that was made for a 4 barrel holley that with his motor set up for 11:1 comp ratio made his little 83' a beast in the mud

you can do almost the same thing on a weber. You just got to be brave enough to do it.
