Alternator Wiring Problem

Alternator Wiring Problem
I’m finally putting my project trunk together after a year. I have to hook the alternator up; I was wondering if you guys could help me out. I have two green plugs on the driver side of the engine bay, one plug has 4 wires, a big black wire coming from it (is it a ground) the other 3 are white with black stripe, green, and yellow which all go to the alternator plug. The other plug just has a big fat white wire coming from it. Could any one tell me how its set up on your truck. My truck is a 82 4x4 2.4L and it has the 5 blade regulator.
Thanks
Kris

The black ,green and yellow wires goes to the plug on the back of the alt. The white wire goes to the post to the left of the plug . That is looking from the front of the motor towards the firewall. My truck also has a 5 wire regulator plug. I did not see the two plugs, so there might be a difference between the 2wd and the 4wd models. I think that some alts had a adaptor plug on them which might mean a differant type of alt.
