Help please so I can't seem to find a window regulator for my 83
Toyota pickup because it has the smokers vent window I read there is a mod for the regular regulator but there is no regulator in my door at all so I have nothing to compare to does anyone have a picture of the mod or a place I can buy a new regulator

 

Have you tried Rockauto? I know they have regulators for vent or non vent windows listed for my 87.

 

They have nothing for 83 they have ones starting in 84 but it says it will not fit on my 83

 

Well which is it? '83 or '93? Because there is a huge difference between those 10 years.
Also, you're trying to modify your window. As in, beyond the way it came from the factory. So why would you be going off what part listings say fit and don't fit your truck? Obviously it's not going to say it 'fits'.

 

Sorry I meant 83 I posted that at the end of a very frustrating day trying to figure this out yes I cannot find the stock window regulator for my 83 Toyota it has the wing window which a different regulator than the non wing window I read in the forums about a modification that you could do to the non wing window regulator and make it work for my wing window regulator there was no regulator at all in the door so I have nothing to compare the other one too to see what mods might be necessary sorry for the confusion but I really need some help with this I know there are used ones available but they can't have much life left on them

Correcting myself....

Driver and passenger side are actually not interchangeable. You wont be able to close the window fully.

Some aftermarket window regulators for trucks without vent windows can be modified with some effort. OEM ones and ones built like OEM will be harder to modify.
