Cannot seem to find a tank for my 4x4 81 yota P/U. I was wondering if the 85+ P/U tanks would fit. A simple search on ebay shows they look exactly the same. I wanna add this without any modification to keep the skid plate and keep the cost down. If not what would you guys recommend?

i put one on my longbed and its an 83. make sure that the new gas tank fuel pickup is from a carb. truck. cause if its a fuel injected truck will have a fuel pump in the tank. i was able to bolt the bigger newer tank in place of the old one but i wasnt able to get the skid plate on. the only problem i have is when i flex my suspension too far my driveshaft rubs my gas tank in the front left corner.

 

My 79' has a fuel pump in the tank, and one on the engine aswell. Could have been on a FI truck though
