83' very jerky when maintaining speed and during slow acceleration

I did take the coil off and clean it. I haven't seen it arc since then. You're absolutely right about the internet. If it doesn't work as a source for research it is definitely questionable for my engine.

I may have discovered the root of my problem. I've long suspected that the cause was something surrounding the clutch or drive line. I was inspecting the connection between my engine and transmission yesterday and found that only the top two bolts are still in place! I promptly ordered the other bolts from Toyota and will install them this weekend. Needless to say, I'm not driving it until then. I sure hope this solves my jerky problem.

I discovered that I actually had four bolts holding the engine and transmission together. However, two were loose, one of which was about a half inch out of the hole! I am also missing both of the stiffener plates! Two two of them are about $100 from Toyota. If anyone has another suggestion I would definitely appreciate it.
Although the engine to transmission connection does feel more solid while driving, the jerkiness is still there. I'm planning on rebuilding the carburetor in a couple of weeks. I'm pretty sure that's it at this point. I'll let y'all know!

FOUND MY PROBLEM!!! I had a massive vacuum leak. It was a split hose behind my carb. I don't know how the spray test didn't find it. Now my only problem is that I ran over a dead bear on I-5 about a week ago, so I have two collapsed leaf springs and some nasty reverb and vibration in my cab from the engine. I'm thinking it's probably a broken engine mount and the jacked up suspension parts. Everything else is normal and I'm SO happy to have my truck not jerk back and forth all the time!!!
