83' suspension lift questions
I ran over a bear last month, which collapsed both passenger side leaf springs. Since I need new springs anyway, I was thinking about getting a small lift. I don't want my truck too top heavy and I want to avoid as much heavy duty modification as possible (re-gearing, extra-crappy gas mileage, lots of money, etc.). I have found several lift kits with a huge price difference and wide variance in the amount of parts they include. Are there any brands to avoid or any that are exceptionally good? Will I need to change any steering components for a suspension lift?
I also have some split 3-spoke wheels from a 97' I think. I would like to be able to put 33" tires on them, but I need some wheel spacers, at least in the front. Does anyone know if this would be compatible with a 3" suspension lift and if I would re-gearing would be necessary?
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

I checked out your "Barney" build, wabbit. That's pretty much the same thing I want to do. Lot's of great ideas and how to. I have those same Toyota alloys. I also am in the process of looking at lift kits, including OME and LCE. $1000 feels like a lot for just the front. Would there be consequences if I just did springs and shocks?
