I've found an 83 Toyota 2WD 22R 5spd parts truck. does anyone know how many parts will bolt onto my 81 2WD 22R Auto ? I'm hoping the ignition module will cause they go for $ 1006.00 new !! but also the usual stuff like wiper motor, alternator, drivetrain, suspension parts etc.

Yep only difference would be the headlights, grill...

 

Just swapped n 81 4x2 cab to a 4x4. The wire plug type for the 81 is not interchangeable with the 83 for most, but not all electrical connections.
All body parts, interior trim and such are the same. The defroster/ fan controls are different in their style but with creative modifications can be made to work.
