82 toyota problems

ok so if my truck runs for a while antifreeze starts leaking onto my floor, and it looks like it comming from the top of the skinny pedal and its dripping from my floor onto my exhause and it stinks

another thing is my truck when its running the volt gauge is bouncing around, goes from 12 back up to 14 then back down again, and i dunno whats up, oh and another thing, my charge light was being werid, if i would rock the truck the light would flicker on and off, so i unplugged the thing under the passanger side dash.

please help, i want to drive it but theres so manyproblems LOL i love old trucks

1st thing is your heater core is bad. The electrical issues are most likely due to a loose connection somewhere. Check the voltage regulator 1st and battery connects. There is a few places the volt gauge has connections so check those 1st. Could be a loose connection on alternator as well.

gauranteedcarbs.com worked out really well for me. Was somewhere around $230-250.

Napa should sell a good kit, and I know there are some online places, hopefully somebody will post them up.

What was wrong with gauranteed? Their customer service (for me) was great.

IMO the customer service was bad. I was having problems and they wouldnt return my calls.

A few months later I dropped 500 at a carb shop to get it fixed. Idk if it was their fault when rebuilding or if it was my problem in the first place but there was old gas stuck in some part (jets or injector or something like that?). Before I bought the carb it wouldnt idle properly, after, it would sometimes quit unless you kept it above 1000rpm. It slowly got worse to where it would never idle, I had to stop using the e-brake because I couldnt take my foot off of the throttle. Then it finally wouldn't start at all, thats when I had it towed to the carb shop. Ever since then though its been wonderfull.

Huh. I called their customer service, the guy trouble-shot it with me, I tried a couple things and called back, and he told me to call the "main desk" and tell them that he had helped me out and we couldn't find a solution. As soon as they got my core in the mail they rebuilt it and sent it back out to me, no questions asked. I had issues right off the bat with the first carb, but they kind of just went away, then I drove from Montana to Arizona with it and it ran like a champ the whole time. I was sort of disappointed to have to switch it out again when I got my core back from them, newly rebuilt.

That's too bad you had a different experience.

Yotaboy I was going to rebuild my carb but the tag with the ID# was gone so we were having trouble finding a good rebuild kit. I mean you can buy a generic one but you want a good one specifically for your model carb. Good luck with the rebuild, I hope it works out! Take photos.

Well like I said it may have not been their fault. Could have been old gas just coming through my lines getting unstuck somewhere and sticking in the carb. Or they could have just not cleaned it well enough. Also when I got it back from the carb shop he had some vacuum lines in different places.

All I'm saying is if I were to do it again I would give somewhere else a try.

Totally, I'm not giving you a hard time, just relating my experience with them.
