No experience...sorry. If you can find a FSM, do it. I've got one for my 83. If you want I can scan some pages out of it for you.

Ok, so we're talking about the actual tumbler you put the key into, or what specifically?

I don't have internet at home, so if we don't get to this today, it won't be until Monday. Just figured I'd let you know in case you wonder what's taking so long over the weekend.

Yes key stuck in ignition!
Tumbler ignition cylinder!
If I hit it right I can get it to turn. It's just worn out. I can get part from Napa or Toyota but if the key is stuck in locked position I don't have an idea how to get the cylinder out. Maybe there is a locking bolt ect. My manual dos'nt discribe it! Anyway hope that helps and no problem if you don't get back to me until Mon.

Hopefully this gets you going. Looks like the key needs to be in the ACC position, so hopefully you can get it there, or figure out how to work around that part...sometimes you've just got to get in there and start taking things apart.

That is what I was thinking sometimes it takes the magic touch to get it turned I have been out of town for awhile so maybe when I start tinkering with it I may get lucky!!!!
Thanks for taking the time to send the illustrations will come in very handy!!
Have a great weekend and holidays!

Thanks Zach
I was able to get the ignition in the ACC position and from there it was a piece ofr cake!
Got a new ignition switch lock from Napa $50 came with the keys and they actually work on door locks also did'nt expect that!!
Anyway thanks again for the help and the illustrations all came in handy.
I love my truck it is just my get around town mobile but it is so easy to do most of the repairs I can't let it go!!

Hey not a problem! That's a good deal. Yeah, these trucks really are pretty easy to work on. MIne has given me a lot of trouble...but I almost never have to bring it to a mechanic, and that pretty much makes it worth it to me just by itself. Of course they're also just bada## trucks.
