Has anyone passed calif smog testing with the EGR ports blocked off? I think I remember seeing one that passed but not sure. I have my rebuild about complete.

 

I've seen several posts on here of it being done, EGR blocked, fresh ignition parts, correct timing set & carb properly tweaked (right jet sizes & idle mix set), even if it was a Weber 32/36. I've also heard several times that the R motor could run clean enough to pass without a Catalytic converter. My '78 never had one from the factory, according to original sales paperwork I've seen.
