On my 82 I have the air injection pipe running across the top of the manifold. Almost impossible to find. Now I could install a CARB legal header except it still has to use that tube. I have heard that the newer model from 85-95 manifold would bolt up. Then I could use a better easier to find air tube. Anyone did this? I have to replace my complete exaust system anyway..

 

Yeah, the later models bolt to the side of the head, above the manifold's mounting location and you can use it with a header.

You'll need the other connecting pipes that wrap behind the head too.

 

I have that air tube if you need one. Lots of spare CA smog parts from my 83

 

I picked up a used part like shown above but different as it is one tube not 2. This one wraps around the head and terminates in a 2 bolt plate. That bolt up to another pipe that goes almost all the way to the air valve. That part is hard to locate. And then are smog referee may not buy off on it. I have to check with them first.

 

Here is a picture of the 85 pipe for the system. If anyone has a spare or removed yours and want to sell it please let me know. I also need the 85 control valve too.
