Well I finally got my 81 running good. It would idle nice, choke worked good, etc. Well today the stepson got two vehicles stuck in the mud here. The first one was a Grand am, and I pulled it right out. The second one was a Ford F350 truck. It took a little more effort, but it came out too. Afterwards the Toyota didn't want to rev up. It revs to 2000rpm, then falls flat on it's face, then about 3000rpm it takes off again all the way to red line. It didn't want to idle either. It still has the stock carb on it. I did a tune up about two weeks ago, but I forgot to do a fuel filter. I didn't have a chance to work on it today, but I did do a visual and everything looks in place. I hope it's nothing serious. Any ideas what it might be? Thanks, Dean

 

Fuel filter would be my guess.

Well I fixed it. I put in a new fuel filter, but that didn't fix it. I unhooked the fuel line from the carburetor, and blew air into the carb. Now it runs fine. It still idles to high, but it's done that since I bought it. I'll look into that later. Dean
