81 Leaf Spring Problem

My Baja rig is an 81 long bed 4x4 complete with CanBak shell, RTT, solar panel, Engel fridge, deep cell battery and a 20 gal water tank. My point is I carry a lot of weight which my truck handles well. However my leaf springs are now going in the wrong direction. How do I calculate what to replace them with and welcome any suggestions

being that you carry alot of weight on a regular basis with a fairly light truck, you want a leaf spring with many leaves but not much arch...the leaves will still move and flex with the terrain but will help with the load. Maybe a custom job, and there are companies, such as Deaver, that can help with that.

You are in southern California, give the guys at Camburg Engineering a call. They're up in Huntington Beach and build Baja 1000 race trucks. They do lots of custom suspension work and I'm sure they could give you some advice or set you up.

Chevy 63" springs will work..
They're for a half ton pickup.
The truck will ride better, and you can carry a bigger load..
You could also take some old rear springs and put them up front for added lift.

And don't forget National Spring down in Santee. Are your rears going negative or just the fronts?

Thanks for the input.

Just found out I work with a colleauge who has access to a set of scales, so when I'm fully loaded will weigh the truck and then start talking to the suppliers you guys recommended. Thanks again for everyone's input. b/b.

Another custom spring place is Alcan Spring, I run those on the rear of my '85.

Or try OME, they have a 2" lift spring in a medium and heavy duty spring rate:
