Well, researched a little more and came across this search. What do you guys make of it?

Ok, I'll stop being such a jerk. Is there such a thing as a smog pretest? I think we need to know it's status as to why it failed before we just start swapping parts that aren't necessary.

Alright, cat took care of hc, co is still high. Max allowable 1.70%, trucks at 5.60%, timing was at 9*, advance off, put it to 0* advance off. Going to try to smog now. Hope it passes.

Well, timing change brought co down to 4.17%. Still rich though. Ordered a carb kit today, going to rebuild tomorrow. Also, no one lists a factory style mechanical pump for this localy, only electric. It has an electric on there now with a regulator, wierd regulator though, german writing, adjusts like a steering box, jam nut with a slotted center. Eh. Hopefully rebuild brings it back down to what it should be.

Heres a thought. As I layed in bed last night, I was thinking about the L diesel. I know its underpowered, a turbo will fix that. But, if I swap the engine, I will have smog exempt status. Only issue, I cant find a used one with harness. If anyone knows of a website that I could track one down on, that would be awesone. I think it would be fun and interesting to build one with some oomph.
