I walked over to a guy something like 20 years ago at Englishtown Raceway parking lot and asked him where he got this "rare piece of Toyota history" ? He got all indignant on me because he said he built it himself. Which I guess is possible. It had Dana diffs, but he never heard of Wolverine. Sorry I bothered you.

man, I saw at least three of those in northern az when I was living there! I just thought they were funky conversions people had done... Looked like weak axles and such, but if they're worth anything i'll keep an eye out for any in south az!

dana 20's and 30's are garbage axles. better off just buying a 78 2wd and SASing it. lol

Talking 1977 wolverine hilux

i have a 77 and a 78, both 2wd, i would love to have the drive train but dont have the cash, but i would love to have the chrome headlight bezzles and stock chrome hubcaps for my rig.

I have a friend in Calif. that has a 1978 4x4 conversion. He's also got a 1984 stretch 4x4. Both he got new!

thats cool, i almost scored one in trade for a jet ski i still have a picture of it somwhere, and from what i have heard the dana 20 front axles are great for toyotas and light 2wd conversions, but people try and put them under jeeps and stuff and break em
