4runner exhaust

I have a 1993 V6 4runner that i want to put a 2.25" exhaust on, but my pipes are only 2". Do i need to get a 2.25" down pipe and all new 2.25" pipes, or do i need to just get an adapter that goes from 2" to 2.25" where the pipe connects into the exhaust?

You do know that you posted this in the pre-84 truck section?

That being said, yeah keep your 2" downpipe and run 2.25" catback with an adapter.
