4 speed shifter linkage question

So im putting everything back together, and I can't figure something out. I have about a 1-2 inch gap from the bottom of the shifter, to the elbow shapped piece on the trans where it connects.
Does anyone have a picture of this or know of a part that goes here? Ive cleaned the garage, looked pretty much everywhere and am finally frustrated enough to ask for help.
The "elbow piece" is upside down, WAYYYYY in the back of the picture but hopefully you can see what I'm talking about. Thanks guys!

Thats exactly what I needed to see, thanks a bunch man! Ill keep you posted...but what seems to be missing is what is between the elbow piece, and the part where the 2 bolts are that hold it to the trans...Looks like a ribbed rubber boot lookin thing. I believe that is the technical term.lol
