recently my 82 pickup started this idle racing thing where even stomping the pedal wont get it to come down. If i manually push down the fast idle cam on the carb it clicks twice , each click bringing the idle down , and . After the 2nd it is where I have it set which is perfect. Any idea why this is sticking? The way it clicks is farely smooth.

 

Spray the linkage liberally with some carb cleaner and blow it off with some compressed air. That sould eliminate any binding issues. Post back with results.
