20R Air Intake Hose

Just curious if anybody knows if the 1978 20R came with a air intake hose. My truck doent have one on there and was thinking it would be better to suck in cool air rather than the hot air from the engine. I have been searching the net and if it does exist looks like it would have to come from the junkyard. thanks, Mack

i think 20R trucks just had the intake that ended over the exhaust manifold. 22R trucks had a intake hose, though.

I'm missing mine too. I would just run a hose to the front but I want to have the hot air curcuit. I've heard about a '78 in a local junkyard so I'm going to try there but you may want to try junkyarddog.com. You put in a part request that goes to yards all over the country and they respond if they have one. I bought a set of lower control arms from a Dodge van to put on my RamCharger and they were $100 to my door from Minnesota. I talked to a guy in Oregon and he paid $80 each for the same thing at a local yard.

I called my local Toyota and they said they can order it for 25$. There is a 78 at a local junkyard here too and I am gonna check for it. I just added it to a big list of things needed.

I have a 79 20R and there is a hose that runs from the air filter intake through a small hole (about 3" dia.) in the grill. There is a downward pointing scoop at the end of the hose, to avoid scooping bugs I guess.
1979 toyota long bed SR5, 5spd.
