1st Gen Cab size for a tall guy

im thinking about buying a 1st gen truck, ive heard these things are very small inside so im wondering how well i would fit.

im 6'1" and 200lbs

in the past ive had and 84 extra cab and a 87 4runner but i never drive with the seat all the way back.

Look for a guy who owns one, maybe he will let you take it around the block.

Al of Al's Chop shop drives his '81, he is about 6"5", a little cramped for him.
You might consider a seat swap, something with a narrower back.

leg room isn't that great IMO...I'm 5'8" and keep the seat back all the way. Mine is a trekker so I have a bit more seat room than the standard 1st Gen cab
If you can get a tilt column that will help somewhat.
I realize it is a few hour drive for you, but the best thing is for your to sit in the truck and see how it feels.
These old trucks tend to collect water in the floor (leaky windshield seals) be sure to pull up the carpet or rubber matt to check the corner, especially behind the seat in the cab corners.

I hope none of you guys ever bad mouth'd short guy's because, this is where I come in and say 'SUCKS TO BE TALL NOW DON"T IT !!!'

I only say this because I'm 5'3 150lbs....and DON"T have ANY problems fitting into my 2nd gen with buckets! Plenty of head room too. I so want to say 'who's laughing now?' but won't....seeing as none of you make fun of us short guys.

6' 6" actually.

i'm mostly leg too, and that's where its cramped. i have plenty of head room with the stock crappy seats, but leg room is cramped. hopefully i can get some nice seats that give a little more leg support under the thighs because my knees are way up there.

i deal with it though, been 'not fitting' in vehicles since i was like 12.

Al

well, a 2nd Gen cab is about 4" longer than a 1st gen...so get a booster seat
edit: and yes I am short too

if your lookin for a 2nd gen, im 6'0 and fit perfectly, my moms 4'11 and she cant fit because she has to move the seat up to reach the pedals but her stomach hits the steering wheel, my dads 5'6 with a somewhat large stomach, so he has to move the seat back to get his stomach off the wheel but then he cant reach the pedals. if i move the seat forward, my knees hit the dash and my head hits the ceiling, but if i move all the way back, i can barely see over the dash, so if your 6'0 and 130 pounds youll fit good in a second gen.

i bet poeople in japan are posting stuff like "ford f150 cab to big for 4'9 87 pounds?' ...lol get it xuz japanese people are small lol...
