Hey guys, the 1983 frame that I was going to pick up for my 83 build was sold out from under me so I've been searching for other options. I have found a frame from a 1990 extended cab that's already been SAS'd in great condition and I was wondering if anybody has any experience swapping a newer frame under their old pickup, and if anybody knows what kind of modifications would be needed to the body mounts, driveshafts, etc.....

 

I know your post is old but for others who may be curious. I done this with a 1993 2WD body on to a 1985 4X4 frame. The body was rusted and found a doner shell for $500. Body mounts lined up perfect, no fab work other than cutting the 4WD shifter hole in the floor, aka, floor pan piece out of my old cab riveted and seam-sealed into the new cab. She's is my mutt and I love her! lol Just not the cool factor as my '83.
